Smash burger delivery in Leicester: how it works
DesiSmash delivers smash burgers across Leicester and Glenfield every Friday, Saturday and Sunday evening. You pre-order a 30-minute slot, the delivery fee is shown before you order, and your burger is smashed fresh when your slot comes around.
Delivery is where a smash burger is hardest to get right, because a crisp crust and a hot, melted centre do not like waiting. This guide explains how DesiSmash delivery works and how to get the best from any burger that arrives at your door.
How ordering and delivery work
- Build your order on the menu and choose Delivery.
- Check your postcode. The delivery fee calculator tells you straight away whether you are in range and what you will pay.
- Pick a slot. We take pre-orders for Friday, Saturday and Sunday in 30-minute slots, from 5 pm.
- Send your order on WhatsApp. Chef Hass replies to confirm. You pay on delivery.
- We smash it to order. Your patties go onto the griddle for your slot, then your burger is bagged and on its way.
How delivery is priced
Delivery is available within 3 miles of our Leicester kitchen. The fee depends on distance, so the closest addresses pay the least, and collection is always free. You see the exact fee for your postcode before you send the order, so there are no surprises. If you live in or near Glenfield, our Glenfield guide has more on what to expect.
Why pre-ordering helps the burger
Because every order is cooked for its own slot, we are not cooking burgers in advance and holding them. A smash patty is thin, so it goes from griddle to bun in moments. Booking a slot lets us time the cook with the delivery, which is the biggest single thing we can do for a hot burger.
How to keep your burger crisp and hot at home
- Eat it quickly. A smash burger is at its best in the first ten minutes.
- Be ready when the slot arrives. Have drinks and plates set out, so the burger does not sit on the counter.
- Let the steam out. If you are going to wait a few minutes, open the bag or container lid slightly. Trapped steam softens fries and the crust.
- Do not microwave a burger. It turns the bun chewy and the patty rubbery. If you must reheat, take the patty out and use a hot dry pan for a minute.
- Keep sauces for the last moment. Dip pots let you add sauce as you eat so nothing goes soggy.
- Fries first if you are hungry. They lose their crunch fastest, so eat them while they are hot.
Choosing a burger that travels well
Most of our menu is built for delivery. A butter-toasted brioche bun resists soaking, and cheese melted into the patty helps keep the stack together. If you want the safest bet, go for a classic like The OG Smash or the Smoked BBQ Pitmaster. If you love loaded fries, plan to eat them first. We cover this in loaded fries and sides for smash burgers.
Collection instead?
If you are close, collecting can be the freshest option. It is free, and you can collect your order from the kitchen at your chosen slot. You can switch between Collection and Delivery in the basket before you send your order.
